Smelling of underbrush and warm bricks, the fruit doesn't kick in until the palate, where it turns up raspberries, dried strawberries and pomegranate seeds. Bright and perky in fruit character, its mouthwatering acidity and textured, lightly chewy tannins give this wine a pleasantly firm structure. There is good purity and medium concentration into the modest but flinty finish. This is easy to appreciate and drinking well now. A blend of 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc, all harvested manually, this undergoes malolactic fermentation in new French bariques. drink 21-25
